Polini came up with a new product. Interestingly that they haven’t shown that at the EICMA show last year already. It is a ceramic pulley similar to the Stage6 R/T one. I wonder if we’re soon gonna see a new Evo Range Variator and Pulley kit as their current kit is by far not as popular as the Stage6 and Malossi Overrange kits. Only time will tell and let’s hope that this kit will make our scooters faster as it definitely doesn’t come in cheap. Nonetheless it looks quite sexy.

Update: There is also a so called Air Speed available with the front half of the variator… Should just be a matter of days until the variator appears :)

POLINI EVOLUTION 3 “CERAMIC SPEED DRIVE”: POLINI MOTORI’S EXCLUSIVE

100% made in Italy the new Polini Evolution 3 “CERAMIC Speed drive” for 50cc scooters equipped with Piaggio and Minarelli-Yamaha engines.

Made of aluminum light alloy it is machined direct from the block and weighs only 500 gr. lighter than the steel pulleys and subjected to a special ceramization treatment. This is an innovative and exclusive feature that brings great advantages: besides more power transmission, the working temperatures decrease and consequently the belt grip is better.
The performance is really high and due to the stability of its efficiency this helps to avoid any loss of power during the race. Our tests demonstrated that the pulleys must have a proper roughness: for the driven half pulleys it is of 4 micron. These values were obtained after different tests which allowed us to exploit the performance limiting the belt wear. During the race testing the speed increase is immediately noticeable thanks to the grip improvement with faster acceleration when exiting corners.

POLINI EVOLUTION 3 “CERAMIC AIR SPEED”: THE PULLEY WITH CERAMIC COATING

Polini “Evolution 3 Ceramic Air Speed” for all the scooters equipped with Piaggio and Minarelli-Yamaha engines.

Made of aluminum light alloy, it weighs only 200 gr. lighter than the steel pulleys and subjected to a special and exclusive ceramization treatment. Our tests demonstrated that the pulleys must have a proper roughness: for the fixed half pulleys it is of 3 micron. These values were obtained after different tests. The engine is really sharp when starting and more “racing” in the power output. The engine shifting is faster and it remains more constant during its life.
